Lansdowne Coffee Table

Description:Designed for a small front room in a Victorian terrace house, this coffee table sits alongside some beautiful antique furniture, in front of a Victorian drop arm sofa and a Georgian chest of drawers. With this in mind, I kept the design clean and simple. The multi faceted legs give the piece a delicate beauty. They catch the light, giving the appearance that the legs are subtly changing shape as you walk around the table.
I decided to make the top in glass, helping the room to feel light and uncluttered. Glass takes on a shade of green during the toughening process, this led me to choose English Cherry as the timber as it also contains some green hues.

Materials: Made in English cherry with a reverse bevel glass top.

Finish: Shellac and wax.
