GGBench

Description: The Graves Gallery in Sheffield commissioned three freestanding, oak benches with storage for information about the art works. Thy wanted the seats to ‘blend in’ with the building and the oak chairs original to the gallery but be beautiful in their own right.  They had to be comfortable and encourage visitors to spend more time in the gallery.   The benches won a Wood Award for the best single piece for a public space in 2009.
