BROWN OAK TABLE AND CHAIRS

The design has very obvious 1950’s inspiration. I really enjoy the fact that it is a shape normally associated with melamine tops and round legs yet is made from a material more often seen in farmhouse furniture.

The table is designed to sit six comfortably and eight ‘at a squeeze’.

A set of four chairs were made to go with the table, and a bench which seats either ‘two adults or three nieces and nephews’ . All the seats have  traditionally upholstered drop in seats, covered in a fabric from Libertys.

The wood is finished in Danish oil with the exception of the top, where I have used a very hard wearing finish called timbertect. It looks identical to the Danish oil but is better suited to the continual abuse a table top receives.
